21 Years As a Professional Organizer
16 May 2021
21 years ago I became a Professional Organizer.
It all began when I bought a book on organizing while Christmas shopping at the Natick Mall in 1999. I was 26. I was actually motivated by the thought of getting myself more organized. I had no idea that organizing was even a career choice at the time.
The book, Clear your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston, inspired me and I immediately started researching the profession. There wasn’t much out there at the time. But, I found a local organizers group and immediately joined. A few weeks later, on January 10th, 2000, I went to Watertown town hall and registered Organizing Boston.
I feel very fortunate to have stumbled on to my career at such a young age. I have met wonderful people, made lifelong friends, helped hundreds of clients organize their lives and have learned and grown in more ways than I could have imagined.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible; my awesome organizing team, my wonderful organizing clients, all of the professional resources and connections that help me do this well. I owe you a debt of gratitude.
I love every day of my job and I can’t imagine ever doing anything else!
